Soren's new room

In preparation for this new babe to arrive, we moved Soren downstairs on Sunday. I have to admit, I was nervous, much more nervous than Scott or Soren I think! It has gone fantasticly (is that a word?)!!! Soren loves his new room! We still have a shelf to put up and a picture or two to hang...but we are getting there! Below is a pic of him sitting on his bed.....per his request!The constructions 'stickers' are a hit!

Spring party/program

Yesterday, Soren's preschool held their Spring party/program. I was SUPER bummed because I had to work and couldn't find anyone to trade...but here are some of the pics that Scott took! Soren was the 'apple' in the Hungry Catepillar.

I'm not sure what song they were singing here, but I heard that you could hear Soren loud and clear as they were signing:-)!!!

I know this won't be the last event that I'll miss of my children, but it was the first and a bummer. So this has prompted us to think about buying a video camera. I'm looking for suggestions, pros/cons, preferences!?!? Just any help please!

Easter eggs & cookie decorating

Today we got to spend the morning decorating the traditional Easter eggs and cookies!!! Of course, it is MUCH more fun to do with friends and so we got to help out Abram and Aubrey!! Soren asked for green & yellow frosting (John Deere colors).

Painting the eggs was a hit!

Emily also showed us that instead of 'wrapping' the eggs and putting them in boiling water, a blow-dryer is MUCH more kid friendly!!

Soren & I made the actual sugar cookies on Monday. This anti-craft/color/project boy actually 'helped' me make ALL of the sugar cookies! I was impressed!

Springtime

I love springtime!! Soren has been SO excited to get outside and play!! Today, I just smiled as he tried all morning to catch the robins that reside in our neighborhood!!! Thankfully, he hasn't caught one yet!!!!

Working weekend....

We got to spend this past weekend with my folks in SD. It was a successful weekend by all accounts with lots of projects completed and/or started. The list includes:
~4 swaddling blankets for our new babe
~8 burp clothes
~Curtains for the nursery
~Wall hangings for the nursery
~A quilt for the baby
~A nursing cover for myself
~Stripping a shelf for Soren's room
~2 batches of homemade granola
~1 batch of homemade buns
~Yummy meals to accompany all the hard work
~A trike ride or two to the various parks
~lamp shade cover
~Some tractor playing time with Grandpa
~An airplane ride for myself

Hmmm....that's all I can think of right now! What a good but tiring weekend!!!

Dreaming....

So I always have crazy dreams when I am pregnant! Last nite I dreamt that Scott 'strongly encouraged' me to run a 1/2 marathon when I was only 7 days post-partum! Really!?? The scary part is that I was going to do it!
