On manners.

This might be TMI....so don't read any further if you'd rather not! Yesterday, as Soren & I were sitting at the breakfast table I tooted. I said, "Excuse me." Soren's response was, "Thank you for having good manners, Mama!"

The A'mazin Farmyard

This past Sunday went choose to forego naps (for all of us:-)) and spent the afternoon at the A'mazing Farmyard. The weather was beautiful and was just a great family day!
The bounce-houses are ALWAYS a hit!!
Soren got to pet lots of different animals.

Of course, he had to 'ride' the tractor.

Field of pumpkins.

Perhaps the biggest hit was the giant potato sack slide! It was awesome!!!!

An early morning.

This morning Soren woke up at 5.30am!! Uggh!!! He was yelling for us (he's not allowed to get out of bed unless we go in there), saying that he was, "Oh, so hungry!" I asked Scott what Soren had for supper last night! It included one pork chop, one baked potato, a pear, veggies, milk and yogurt before bed!!! I'm not sure what more we could've feed him to last the night! Well, it was a long 1.5hrs before the normal awakening time of 7am came. Soren did eat 2 large bowls of cereal, an apple, and cheese & crackers before preschool!! I sure hope this a growth spurt and not a new 'norm.'

Preschool already!??!

I'm not quite sure how it is that we have a preschooler already but we do!! Soren started today and from what I can tell it was a hit! Below is Mrs Huisinga and Soren (and a tractor of course!!).

Backpack on and ready to go at 7:20 when school didn't start until 9am....uff!!
I'm not quite sure how kids learn to evade their parent's questioning or maybe it is that I haven't learned the right was to extract info from him. As I picked him up from school the following is our conversation. Me-How was your day? Soren-great...I got to play with tractors. Me-What else did you do today? Soren-learned. Me-What did you learn about? Soren-tractors!! Me-Did you sing any songs? Soren-John Deere (his favorite song). Me-Did Mrs Huisinga sing any songs? Soren-yes. Me-What songs did she sing? Soren-Ummm....Jesus Loves Me (I'm thinking this might be a generic & safe answer). Me-Did you do anything else today? Soren-Ate snacks and played.
I'm not sure what they really did today...but I do know that he had a great time!!!

Music, music, music...

I recently recieved a GINORMOUS (sp?) binder full of Praise and Worship music! Soren & I have spent atleast 2 hours in the past 2 days 'playing & singing.' Of course, as noted above he needs to have his music books to play out of too! Next to tractors, praise & worship is a favorite around here!

Birthday Party:Sletto Edition

This past weekend was birthday party-packed! We celebrated my niece Kari's 1st birthday, nephews Jo & Micah's 8th birthday and Soren's 3rd birthday. We also got to hang out with my family, do some garage-saling, and of course eat TONS of good food. We also got to see my sister's new house and help formulate 'future projects' for them! It was a great weekend!
Dirt in the dump truck for a 3 yr old.

Kari enjoyed every bit of her 1st birthday-including the plate.

Soren and Granpa Terry look SO much alike at this age.

The yummy food.

Josiah and Micah turn 8.
