A 5 yr old party

Several weeks ago I gave Soren the option of a multiple friend party (which included 3 friends and a trip to the beach) or one friend party and be able to go go-carting and to a movie, etc. Well, hands down he picked to invite 1 friend and go to a movie!!  There was also no question about the picking of a friend...he wanted to invite Aubrey! Unfortunately, there are no kid appropriate movies in the theatres right now so we opted for other fun activities!  Yesterday was the appointed day of birthday fun....

 

It started with picking out a 'birthday breakfast cereal' ie no restrictions by mom which=SUGAR!!!  He choose Fruity Pebbles.

 

Then it was onto picking up donuts and a strawberry smoothie and heading out to his favorite place...the farm.

We ended the party with gift opening...Soren was beyond thrilled to have a new digital watch!!  Aubrey was reading Soren's card to him....very sweet!

About thank you's.....

Having recently gotten some early birthday presents & me reminding Soren that he now has some to write.....he said to me yesterday, "Mom, I thinking that I am retired from writing thank you's!" Hmmmmm......not so much buddy!!!

Birthday party...Sletto edition!!

We spent this past weekend with my family celebrating Soren's 5 bday and my niece Kari's 3rd bday.  There were many thing to do.....much fun was had....and lots of great food to eat!!

 Saturday the Birthday Extravaganza started with peronalized pancakes, yummy deer sausage, coffee, AMAZING quiche and all the fixings you want!!

Summer fun at splash pads!

A few weeks ago I needed to exchange some work shoes and since that would only take about15 mins I asked some friend to come along and meet at a splash pad.....to make the 1 hr trip one way worthwhile!!  Well, between finding the shoe store had moved, going to different splash pads as our friends, and having to get back for naptime....it left us a little rushed to play!!  But, never-the-less, the moms got to have Chipotle for lunch and the kid got to play with their buddies....so it was a successful day!!!
