Fantastic

Is the word that I would use to describe our weekend!  We got to meet my best friend from college and her family at a hotel/waterpark and spend some great time together!!  Soren has asked about 20 times since coming home when we can go again!!  We thoroughly enjoyed our time together...even though there were a few colds/ear infections and sinus infections! :(

The little girls, Kinley (10mos) and Kjersten (13mos), showed up wearing the same jammies.

 Addie and Soren playing.

Addie & Soren having a grand old time.

There were many things to do and check out....it never got old!

Soren coming out of the enclosed/tunnel slide and LOVING it!

Soren and Solveig on the lazy river!

Combine a Johnny Jump Up (one of Kin's favorite things to do) with water=one HAPPY baby!

I am not sure who had more fun on the "Toilet Bowl"....Soren or I!  It was a blast!  Comments from Soren were, "Lets ride like the wind!" or "I am ready to ROCK N ROLL!"
Good times!

 Loving the inner tubes!

Jeremy, Erica, Addie and Kjersten just chilling.

Scott and Kinley following our friends!

Of course there were a few games played...like John Deere Uno.

 The Newberg girls!

Kinley with one set of Godparents....Erica & Jeremy!

A final photo of the group before we depart and head our separate ways!!
Thanks friends!

This and that...

So catching up on the past few weeks...here are a few random pictures of our happenings!!!

Miss Kin in her first 'fountain'....here come the days of barretts and bows!! :)

She loves to watch Soren and attempt to scale anything that she can.

Soren built a 'ship' one day....notice the propeller (aka megaphone)...he was hauling parts to "Washington DC!"

An attempt at a family picture on Easter....with 14 other people running around and 2 kids it's hard to get a decent one!!!
Our niece, Kari, Easter egg hunting.

Soren was checking out the loot!

An attempt to corral all 8 grandkids after egg hunting to take a picture.

Maybe giving them a sucker would help the cause...or maybe not!?!?!

Between here and my folks house, Soren knows all the gas stations that provide 'free' tractor magazines....it passes the time rather quickly!!

Kinley eating her first 'solid' food....carrots went down without any gagging!!  I am super excited to move onto table foods!  YAY!!!

9 months old....

Miss Kinley is a moving target.  Soren and I attempted to take her 9 month pictures today.....well, they are the best we could do!  She was more interested in 'eating' her blocks than anything!

She is now saying the Mama & Dada sounds, pulling herself up on EVERYTHING, loves to put anything in her mouth and then promptly gags on it, smiles to no end when swinging outside, blows raspberries/bubbles constantly, loves to chase her brother around the house, and in general is a happy baby!

Swim lessons...

Tonight was our last night of swim lessons for this session!! I am excited to say that Soren passed the "Eels" with flying colors and looks forward to "Polliwogs" next fall/winter!  Here are some fun pics of his last night!

Working with Ashley to swim across the pool!

And back to the other side!

I haven't been able to catch Kin doing "Praise the Lord!" until tonite....she was clapping her hands like crazy!!!

The final reward was to go down the waterslide....which Soren ABSOLUTELY loves!!!  Pure joy is shining all over his face!

Spring time

Due to such nice weather this week...we have been able to spend some time at Soren's FAVORITE place....

THE FARM!!!!

More from Soren

So if you haven't read Scott's post on FB a while back check it out....Soren is thinking about being nocturnal!!!

We were sitting at the supper table the other night and he asked us what he and Kinley will be when they grow up?  Our response was, "I don't know what do you think?"
Soren responded, "I think Kin will work for the government!!!"

Really!?!?!

The next day I asked him what Kinley is going to do for the government?
His response was, "Just sit around and twiddle her thumbs!"

If he only knew.....

New vision...

So last Friday I was able to have Lasik eye surgery....everything went well and even though I can't see 20/20 yet I am amazed at how awesome it is and *will be*! I have a new perspective on things though and for those of you that don't have any correction to your eyesight or very little this won't make any sense to you!!  I am overwhelmed and overstimulated at times by being able to 'see' all the time!  The first night that I really noticed it was on Monday as I was getting ready for bed.  Taking my contacts out have been part of my routine for the last 20ish years and was one way that I would get ready to settle down for bed and I no longer had to do that....it was an odd feeling!  The other thing I have noticed is that I am overstimulated while laying in bed.  You see, when I took my glasses off before bed everything just got blurry and I didn't have to think about closing my eyes for my brain to shut-down!   Well, now I can see everything around me and it keeps me awake/and keeps my brain going!!  I actually have to try to shut-off my brain and close my eyes in order to settle down!!!  I know these things will pass and I will adjust to my new sight....but these were things I hadn't expected when thinking about surgery!! :)
