Birthday Weekend

Miss Kinley turns 2 tomorrow!  More to come about her...but here are some of the pics from our celebration!  It was absolutely fantastic to have family here!  It was a crazy busy house filled with lots of food and laughter!

Once again, the 'free' trampoline was a huge success!!

Reading was a good 'downtime' activity!

Sara learning to french braid Siri's hair.

Grammie Sue snuggling the with little girls.
After cheering Siri & Scott on in the Foot Lake 4...we stopped by the firehouse for a tour of the fire engines!

The parade was a great time!

The parade crew!

Elmo/Seasame Street was the theme this year!  Of course, I need to serve fruits & veggies with all meals and so the above idea was perfect!  (thank you pinterest!)

Kinley opened about 2 presents and then was absolutely 'done!' She got her boots and baby stroller and was not one bit interested in opening any more!  So.....

Kari & Soren 'helped' open the rest!

Soren's 'card' he made just for Kin...the back of a cereal box! :)

Such a serious birthday girl!!!

This was my attempt at a family pic!  Kin was absolutely distraught at putting her baby down...'normal' life with a 2 yr old...I guess! lol

 Blowing out candles!

Much happier!

Grammie and Kari!

Cousins playing!!

Rockin' the boots while pushing the baby around!

 A friendly game of spoons!!

Last attempt at a family pic!

Soren gave Kinley a camping chair....also a hit! :)  Still rockin' the boots!

CHEESE!!!!!

In love

These past 2 weeks have been filled with a DIY bathroom project!  Scott did 95% of the work himself and I ABSOLUTELY love it!  Nice job hon! :)

Did I mention that I love it!??!  :)

At church from morning til night...

This morning we had nursery duty at church....Scott laid down to play with one of the boys and before you know if *most* of the kids were dog piling Scott....

Not sure who was having more fun....the kids or Scott! :)

VBS kicked off tonight at our church....and you can't imagine the excitement that has been building at our house! You see, its a 'farm' theme!  For the tractor loving boys in my house....it's a little piece of heaven!  Scott & Soren signed up to help with music, and for the past week Soren has independently been going downstairs, putting in the 'practice' DVD and learning all the songs and actions!  He is loving it! A few pics off my phone!

Kari comes to visit...

Cousin Kari came to visit the end of May....and boy did we have a great time!  Soren was very very very sad to see her leave!  They played hard from morning until night.....and really got along well!  We absolutely loved having her here and can't wait for her to come back next fall!  What more could a boy want than a built in playmate! :)

About McDonalds

This past week I decided to splurge (mostly I was short on time)....and run thru the McDonald's drive thru.

Soren: Mom, how come we never come here?
Me: Well buddy, it's not really a healthy option!
Soren: So does that mean Burger King is a LOT healthier than McDonald's?

Not so much....

Weekend away....

This past weekend we (just the 4 of us) got to spend a weekend away!  It was time to love on our kids and enjoy them!  We first made a stop to see some good friends and their two kids!

Not bad for 7 out of 8 looking at a 'timer!'  :)

We then trekked onward to the Wisconsin Dells! I gotta admit, I wasn't overly thrilled at the thought of the Dells....in my mind it's a big tourist trap!  I still feel that it's a HUGE tourist trap....but the resort we stayed at was absolutely perfect for our kids!  It had indoor/outdoor water parks and indoor/outdoor amusement parks! The bonus of it all....was that it wasn't busy! We never waited more than 5 mins in line!  It was SO fun to see Soren love love love the thrill of roller coasters and water rides!  Scott & I were both shocked at his lack of fear....it was awesome!

Despite the serious face....Kin loved go carts too!!

An absolute favorite rollercoaster for Soren!

It was nice to spend some time at the parks too!

 "Cheese!"

We went to a wild west type restaurant that served all the food and drinks on a train!  It was a hit!

 Loving the water.

Soren & I went on one of the famous Duck Boat Tours....land and water!

Good times in the jacuzzi tub!

Another indoor play area.

We have all come home exhausted but it's a good exhausted.  It means that we played hard and had a great time! :)
