Sletto Birthday Fun

Our cousin Kari turned 5 this past month and Soren turned 7 two weeks later…..therefore we were able to celebrate both birthday's in one weekend!!  

 The 2 littlest girls got to have their toenails and fingernails painted by Grammie and myself…..party prep, of course! :)

 A big hit for Soren was his new Beta fish….'Red'……he has been asking for one for over a year now and thanks to the Penn's and Sletto's he is now one happy camper! :)

 Kari got a battery operated car from her folks…..it was much loved by all!

 The birthday couple chose Root Beer Floats for their dessert…..it's tricky getting candles in that!

 There was much more play time, delicious food and great memories….it was a weekend to celebrate!

Tent Camping

This past weekend we got to spend a quick night with my sister and her family tent camping.  They had to come to MN to get her 2 boys from bible camp and asked if we would be free to meet them for the weekend!  We ended up only 45 minutes from here at an absolutely wonderful campground.  It was well maintained, easy access to town if more supplies were needed, the kids were able to run/bike/play without much parental supervision.  We were close to a playground.  There was a fun stream nearby that the younger kids went on many 'nature hikes.' We were close to a lake. We played some Bocce Ball. Had traditional Smore's and pudgie pies! It was my kids first experience sleeping in a tent…..Kinley asked 3 times to 'go to bed' before we let her go….she was SO excited.  SO very relaxing for parents and fun for kids!

It ended in a huge storm….in which the other 3 adults had to dismantle the campsite in a downpour….but it was considered a success by all! :)

Soren's 'friend' birthday party

Today, I got to hang out with Soren and 3 of his best buds to celebrate him turning 7!!  We started off with some pizza on our deck and then headed to St. Cloud for a much anticipated play time at a new to us splash pad!  

 Ezra hadn't been to one before and was 'checking' things out!

 There were many games played…..running from one side to another! It was hard to get pics because of the water spraying all over!

 I love this pic….especially that they both have their tongues out and neither knew the other one was doing it!  "Break time on the mushroom!"

The wind was a little chilly at times and so all the kids took their turn 'warming up' on the cement.

 There was a park attached to the splash pad…which made for great entertainment as well…this 'teeter-totter' got lots of attention!

 The 'command center' for the splash pad was this post….they loved racing to see who could get there first to turn it on….after it had turned off!

 What a fantastic group of 4!

 What you can't see/hear is the giggles and fun that was had…..I'm not sure who had more fun!?!  Me listening to them or them imagining and playing!

 We ended the day by drying off in the grass and opening presents!

Because of our ever-seeming busy summer we hadn't gotten out the blue plastic pool until a few weeks ago!  Apparently, the kids and I forgot how much fun it (and the sprinkler) could be……here's one days worth of fun!!
