Catching up...

May has seemed to have flown by for our family....as for most people this time of year is just busy!!  I hope to get pics of Miss Kinley at 11mos on the blog this weekend but here's what we've been up to!!

Soren has been asking to plant a garden of his own....so he did!!  We have got peas and cucumbers growing in our backyard!!!  He checks on them daily and is charge of weeding and watering!!  He is pretty stinking excited!

My dad retired this past weekend from the Presbyterian Church in Britton, SD!  He has been ordained since 1971!! It was fun to reflect on his time as a pastor and see people from various churches throughout his time of ministry!

Grammie Sue made the grandkids some kids dresses and bought matching tops for the boys!!

My dad's farewell speech!!

McDonalds

So I can count on one hand the number of times I've taken Soren to McDonald's.  On Friday we ended up going there to get him some supper on the way home.  As we were pulling up to the drive thru I asked him if he'd like a 'hamburger happy meal?'  His response was, "Well, whats in a sad meal?" :)

Rhubarb picking..

Yesterday before it started to downpour we were able to go out to the farm to pick some much wanted rhubarb!!  Here are my helpers~

Better late than never...

Miss Kinley Roo is 10+ months old....
here are a few shots of our photo session today!

I can't say enough about how much a difference it has made in our lives to have had her tubes placed!! She is such a different sleeper!  She is napping 3-4 hrs during the day (between 2 nap) and usually 11 hrs at nights!!  It's SO great (as I need a ton of sleep!)!!!!
She has gotten over gagging on *most* things and is willing to try almost any table food we give her!  We are going to try sweet potato and mango this week!
She is moving like crazy and attempting to walk around furniture!
Life is good!

Preschool fun

Today was family day at preschool!  We were entertained by a couple of plays, a few songs, a bell concert and of course some yummy food! His teachers do such a wonderful job!  I am excited that he will have one more year with them before starting kindergarten!!

Soren was the lion in his play!

 Really getting into the actions!

It takes some serious concetration to play the bells!!

Having dad come for lunch is thumbs up!!

The usual website that I use to edit/crop my photos is no longer available...so you get the unedited version!!

The last photo is an awesome plate that the kids made to take home....it I think it's great!!  A self-potrait with the red hair out on a sunny day!!

Restful sleep

Restful sleep is something we (Scott & I) haven't had for months at our house!  Kinley has been battling ear infections and fluid in her ears since the beginning of the year!!  At first it was hopeful thinking that the antibiotics and time would take away the sleepless nights and painful crying....but after many of those nights we decided to forge ahead and have Kinley get tubes placed!!!  She had tubes placed on Wednesday morning.  We left our house at 6.50am and were home by 8.45am!  It's such a quick and easy procedure....I love it!  Since then it has been absolutely amazing at our house (day and night)!  I think that we are both still sleep deprived and tired in the mornings (even with a full nights sleep)...but am guessing that may take a while to 'catch up' to us!!  The ENT MD said her ears were FULL of glue like fluid that he suctioned out....so it was definately needed!  Please pray that her ears continue to be healthy and that we don't need to replace the tubes anytime soon!!  :)

Fantastic

Is the word that I would use to describe our weekend!  We got to meet my best friend from college and her family at a hotel/waterpark and spend some great time together!!  Soren has asked about 20 times since coming home when we can go again!!  We thoroughly enjoyed our time together...even though there were a few colds/ear infections and sinus infections! :(

The little girls, Kinley (10mos) and Kjersten (13mos), showed up wearing the same jammies.

 Addie and Soren playing.

Addie & Soren having a grand old time.

There were many things to do and check out....it never got old!

Soren coming out of the enclosed/tunnel slide and LOVING it!

Soren and Solveig on the lazy river!

Combine a Johnny Jump Up (one of Kin's favorite things to do) with water=one HAPPY baby!

I am not sure who had more fun on the "Toilet Bowl"....Soren or I!  It was a blast!  Comments from Soren were, "Lets ride like the wind!" or "I am ready to ROCK N ROLL!"
Good times!

 Loving the inner tubes!

Jeremy, Erica, Addie and Kjersten just chilling.

Scott and Kinley following our friends!

Of course there were a few games played...like John Deere Uno.

 The Newberg girls!

Kinley with one set of Godparents....Erica & Jeremy!

A final photo of the group before we depart and head our separate ways!!
Thanks friends!
