Cousin Kari comes to visit…..and a few extra friends for the day!

This past week, cousin Kari came to stay with us!!  It's always a great time when she's here.  We love her and all the joy she brings!

We started off the week by having Soren home for MLK day and 4 of our good friends (their parents were enjoying some sun and sand!).

It's always great when you have an avid reader that can read out loud to the younger ones!! Thanks Ayden!

Even though it was a bit chilly outside…..it was good for everyone to get outside while the littlest ones napped!

To keep 'quiet' during the rest of nap time…..they builds forts to watch, "Charlotte's Web!"

I'm not sure how I can resist this little man…..I just love him to pieces!

Kari & Kinley spent many hours coloring and crafting!

While waiting for their ride…..our friends learned a new card game that *almost* every age can play!

Between the snow days from school and 2hr late starts…..we've spent a LOT of time playing games!

Building more forts and pillow piles have been a huge success!

Taking turns with the electronic globe are a hit as well!

Reading books together when nobody can read…….it did get a little frustrating after this pic was taken! lol :)
We love you, Kari Mari, please come back again soon!!

Sletto Cmas

We ran up to ND the first weekend in January to celebrate Cmas with my family!  Here are a few pics from the weekend.
We had originally planned on taking Soren & Scott on their inaugural downhill ski trip….which I was SO excited for!  But the prospect of bad weather moving in at noon prompted us to switch our plans to Cross Country Skiing for our family of four!  I loved it….and I think the other 3 did too! :)

 Cousin loves!

Gpa Terry teaching Soren how to make paper airplanes!

The red-headed girls playing piano duets!
 More cousin fun!

Grammie & Roo checking all the ornaments out!

Very much a 'hit' was the new-to-Soren aka hand-me-down from Grandpa JD toothpick holder! :)

 Princesses!

 Siri & Kari

 All the Sletto cousins!

Roo loves loves from cousin Signe!

Playtime…cowboys, outside and inside!

There have been a few warm days lately….Kinley is loving going outside to play play play!

Soren woke up and asked if his buddy Abram could join us for the day!  It just so happens that Abram's schedule was free and his mom would be in town to drop him off for 4 hrs!! This red head was BEYOND excited to have a playdate with his best buddy! These cowboys played so well!
Because the weather is supposed to be -65 wind chill in 2 days and a beautiful day today….we asked Abram to pack his snow clothes!  These two boys played hard in the sun and snow!!

We ended the morning with a grueling game of JD checkers…..to be finished at a different date!
Thanks for coming this morning Abram!  We loved having you!

A few more about Cmas

Scott & the kids enjoyed decorating (or eating…..) sugar cookies while I was working!

Trying to 'get' a great picture of one spicy 2 yr old……it's just comical!  Just before leaving for Cmas Eve services!

Soren asked to take a pic of Scott & I….I think he did good work!

One great daddy & his cuties!

I was impressed by this pic…..loving my new camera and having a timer!

Reading the story of Jesus' birth….before bedtime!

I think this is one of my favorite gifts to the kids this year!  My friend Emily takes amazing pics of my kids…..and so I was able to make them into ornaments this year. The ornaments are SO sturdy….a keepsake for sure!

Just the 4 of us

I worked 7-3 this Christmas Day…but after I got home from work just the 4 of us got to spend the day together!  It was a fantastic day!  We got to…..

Once again….Roo was ALL about opening presents!!

A new game for traveling to ND….Hangman!

Feeding her baby ASAP….'she was crying!" lol

Soren has wanted to get Scott and new lunchbox for Cmas….he couldn't wait for Scott to open it!  :)

A new bike for this growing boy!

A new game from the Skoglunds!  SO FUN!

Who doesn't want JD checkers….. ;)

I had bought this amazing kitchen on a garage sale this summer for $20!!!  I was super excited for Roo to have it as she's always 'cooking!' Let me tell you that this kitchen is worth every penny and more!

Both of them are loving it!

A serious game of JD checkers!

Our family then had Papa Murphys (no cooking for this mama:))… the kids loved 'making' their own pizzas!

Followed by a picnic supper watching Charlotte's Web!

Ended with new Cmas PJ's!

A perfect day for this mama!!
